Project Description

CBS Sports and SCADPro have collaborated on creating immersive augmented reality graphics projects for CBS’s coverage of SuperBowl 58. Students were tasked with concepting, designing, and creating in game AR elements that would be featured during the game coverage of the year’s most watched television event.

Project Scope

Students were asked to learn the game of Football and understand how AR plays into the broadcast of an NFL game. Students were given datapoints to visualize in the context of the game. They  received a design overview from the CBS Sports team. Once they had a detailed understanding of the scope – they needed to build concept frames using the design tools at their disposal over the course of 10 weeks.

My Role

My team and I were responsible for style guide creation and brand consistency throughout the duration of the project. In addition, We were responsible for the creation of the process book for CBS, oversight and production of all patterns and graphic elements, and contributed to presentation decks and final presentation event components (badges and passes, event guides, visual elements).

In this project, I worked alongside amazing 3D environment designers, user experience designers, team managers, illustrators, and lighting designers along with an extended team of additional help to create conceptual designs for the active art director and creative director of CBS Sports creative agency for their broadcast of the 2024 Superbowl in Las Vegas. Each concept tackles a different area of broadcast basics that would allow CBS to have a new and consistent experience for their viewers.
